The Book of Tara deals with the private journal of Ard-Riaghian Tara the First of Eirlandia, the country's most famous ruler. The book, rediscovered after several centures, details the trials and triumphs of this indominatable heroine who goes from the daughter of a minor king to the High Queen of her country and the consort of the King of Vikland, their often-time adversaries.

Dealing with both the distant past and the present of the kingdom of Eirlandia, The Book of Tara is the opening story in an ongoing adventure involving romance, intrigue, quests and dangers both physical and magical.

The story continues in the next chaper of The Chronicles of Eirlandia with "The Lifenstone".
