What would you do if your ex-beau promised to make your eldest son a German aristocrat?
Sixteen years have passed since Grace last set eyes on Count von Lietzow. Now, back in Berlin, due to the Czechoslovak crisis of 1938, which her busy husband who is a rising star at the State Department is having to cope with, Grace renews her relationship. Things are complicated by the fact that her eldest son, Peter, looks exactly like Count von Lietzow. When von Lietzow launches a paternity suit, claiming custody of Peter, Grace's husband Russell determines to fight.
