The level of shame that comes with negative thinking is awful. You blame yourself for having intrusive thoughts that caught you off guard. You regret not being more optimistic. The best time to stop is right now.
Are you really sick and weary of people telling you to just be more certain?
Negative thinking is rarely as simple as someone looking at a half-empty glass. Every aspect of your existence is permeated by a crippling mentality.
You can become paralyzed with fear, withdraw from society, and lose your ties as a result.
The constant daydreaming that keeps you awake at night gets out of control. Your past mistakes keep playing over in your head to the point that you can only see this earlier version of yourself.
Negative thinking develops naturally; it's not a problem with you.
Antagonism abounds in our brains. Research published in Psychological Bulletin (2008) has shown that our brains are hardwired to think negatively.
You tell yourself that today will be better, but your mind tells you otherwise, and you find yourself reverting to your old, bad habits.
That doesn't mean, though, that you have no power over negative reasoning.
The brain is unfavorably biased, that much is true. Science has confirmed, however, that you can change the way you think. You can start doing this right now, too!
