Karla has waited a year for her divorce papers to be finalized. She's fought with her husband over custody of their two children and battled to figure out who she is outside of a wife and mother. She's opened a successful oceanside micro-hotel in Driftwood Bay, so why doesn't she feel like her life is complete?
With her new independence, she'd hoped to share her happiness with her closest friend Sawyer, but after an argument at Christmas, they haven't spoken much. She's doing just fine on her own (thank-you-very-much) but now that her sisters are moving on too, the hotel feels big and lonely.
