This volume analyzes the "seeing-through utterances" that cross the psychological territoriality between characters and the "seeing-through" acts that explain them. It reveals that their functions may be related to the themes of the works. What this suggests is that Kafka may have intentionally used seeing-through utterances in in-text conversations, as a type of rhetoric. As the first study to consider this rhetorical technique, this book serves to provide a new perspective for analysis of the rhetoric of Kafka's works.
