There she was, my dearest Carla, as beautiful as I always remembered her to be. Carla's hair looked like a wave of silken softness, highlighted with pretty strands of red and gold. And that is what I had always called it—silken! Her skin was like finely made porcelain, with a fine glow of its own. Carla's eyes were always the bluest of the blue oceans. She had an inner person to match all of her exterior beauty, as genuinely fine characters' inner-persons are usually all about. It was my great fortune, she was my sweetheart, and she was always my most precious soul-mate as well! It was December 16, 2012 in our world.
Suddenly, I heard a murmur, a whisper, behind me, as in a voice from a hushed crowd. And I felt a caring arm on my shoulders.
"She looks very beautiful and serene," I heard a voice whisper in my ear.
That was Mrs. Eves, Carla's mom. I laid my head on her shoulder, and began to sob. And my mom joined us, in our moment of grief. My mother too was heaving with her sad cry!
