As we set on foot, the book starts with a short but tantalizing PROLOGUE. I say tantalizing because the two major agents of attraction—Sex and Violence are certainly front and center. The third-person-voice of the story narrates a bit of sexual-encounter recollection. The preamble then goes on to reveal the focal point of the sleuth: Did he kill her?

The early part reveals some marital situations, as the early stage of the story is being set. It seems like the voice of the chapter is "Sarah Morgan". The marital situations, well, ten years on, and there is a cloud chasm separating the two souls. The other soul, of course, being "Adam." She (Sarah) is busy with her professional life, he is wondering about the promises and, at least in one glance, it seems like the mental push-and-pull has already formed the inner persons in its own image. Would they miss getting together on their tenth anniversary? That's Adam's main concern of the moment. She comes-up large with a fancy present and even warmer gestures-and words. So far, the story portrays Sarah as chasing the so-called big mark of life, even though the target might be more elusive than she has bargained for—but all in all, she does have a measure of someday-I'll in her universe.
