A lifetime away on the sundrenched beaches of Australia, Angela is still haunted by the inequalities of Ireland's dark past. In her forlorn attempt to improve the unhappy situation of the downtrodden teachers in her school, Angela meets with resistance from the faceless men in dark suits, who work behind the scenes, oiling the wheels of power, while quietly disposing of any potential threat and naivety is no excuse. Family betrayal and revenge for events real or imagined, results in Angela's life careering out of control and unable to put the brakes on, she spirals down into the seedier realms of society, where she becomes trapped in the house of a drug dealer and his prostitute girlfriend.
