Hi, do you sometimes get home from work, feeling hungry and tired, but you haven't got anything to eat? The answer to your dietary dilemma is a stew or a casserole. Why? Because if you cook it a few days in advance, it will feed you – and a partner – for a few days, so there's no need for headaches or arguments about whose turn it is to cook on Tuesday night after work. Most of the recipes you'll find in this book are pretty easy. They provide four, sometimes more, servings. And stews and casseroles do taste even better the day after – or even two days after. If you're single, cook a stew on a Sunday and it will feed you when you get back from work throughout the week – no need to think about what you're going to eat. Just rustle up some rice or pasta, and maybe some chunky bread or sliced white to mop up the juices, and you're well fed. Are you married, got a girlfriend or boyfriend, both of you working? Well, have fun in the kitchen together one evening preparing one of these hearty treats, and it will be the best ready-meal you've ever eaten when you get in from a busy day at the office, college, school or the building site, and a glass of wine can make it a romantic occasion. There are chicken recipes, beef, lamb, pork, and vegetarian ones, though substituting the chicken, beef, lamb or pork for pulses or vegetables in the carnivorous dishes will also work for non-meat eaters. You can even use fish – white fish pieces like cod or haddock work well. Please enjoy these recipes. They're not wholly original. They've been around a long while and have stood the test – and taste – of time. If you like the book, please comment on the review page. I'm really interested to know what you think – and if you've tasted any of the meals – Tally Billiah
