With the end of the old South Africa it was also the death of "Afrikaner

Nationalistic capitalism", which was especially charecterised by the end

of the once mighty Sanlam and its peer in the North, Volkskas, which was

first part of Rembrandt and later part of Barclays in Great Britain. These

two organisations have been keeping the Afrikaner's business matters

alive for decades.

• While Afrikaner capitalism has been desperately trying to come up for

air the last decade, a new foundation has quietly been laid for a new

generation of Afrikaner capitalists. New billionares were created through

the prices of shares skyrocketing and in the process it looks like some

of these asset-spirals were built on very thin ground and maybe even

fraud.

• This book discusses the current economic climate in South Africa in an

interesting and accessible way.
