Today's market is always crowded with rivals that may rapidly swoop in and take over your company if you make a mistake. Unless someone else makes the same error as you, your odds of returning are limited. Anticipating your opponent to make a mistake is similar to expecting other race participants to tumble. That is not a good plan.

Even worse, each race has a large number of competitors. Every category suffers from "the tyranny of choice," as I call it. Consumers have so many alternatives that a single error might result in not one, but a whole army of competitors attacking. The true tragedy is that you are unable to get your company back on track. It's no longer there.
