Kuwômôyush- the Mohegan saying for "I love you." Based on the true story of Rebecca, daughter of the Grand Sachem of the Montauk, and Lieutenant Francis Bell, a British colonial officer. In the early 1600s, British settlers arrived in the New World. As they arrived, they found a land populated with many different civilizations, one of which was the Montauk tribe, led by Grand Chief Sachem Wyandanch. His daughter Rebecca is betrothed, and on her wedding night, she is kidnapped. Lieutenant Francis Bell of the British leads the negotiations to free her. They are two people from entirely different civilizations who learn of each other, fall in love and face many challenges to their love being from two different cultures, facing enemies within and without.
