A space faring civilization comes under attack by an alien insectile species. Their forces are badly mauled and their worlds destroyed. The remnants of their fleet stumble across Earth and hope to combine their technology with our population and return to fight their enemies. As they build their forces and attempt to forge a new fleet, we meet a variety of characters both on Earth and among the stars. Scenes of military action are mixed with human dramas and adventures.
