Josée's story has put the reality of life out there. "You wake up in the morning with a normal life, and in the afternoon, gunshots make you leave everything you had behind" Said Josée. Her story tells how you can still fight for your rights even at a younger age. When she was a teenager, she was trapped in the war Zones in three different East African countries (Burundi civil war 1993, Rwandan Genocide 1994 and Congo DRC civil war 1996). "I was born refugee and always found myself in the same position in every country that I have lived in, until the age 29" She said. She was used to running away because of war and became so traumatised to believe that she could settle or feel comfortable living in a new country without being worried that anytime things might turn around the wrong way. She always thought that war might break down and make her leave again. In her story of being a Survivor Champion, she also opens up about her experiences of domestic violence, living an emotionally abusive life and many more tragedies that will be found in the pages of this book. Josée's story shows that you can always be adventurous and try to move to other places for a better life. She says: "The best decision I have ever made in life, was moving to other places (countries, cities) for a better life. You don't have to settle for a painful life"
