Eli Yutzy and Joy Petermeyer want to get married. They didn't realize how much work they had ahead of them. Uncle Jim's hundred-year-old barn needs to be cleaned and painted. Joy has to sew her wedding dress, but she can't sew. She is supposed to cook Eli a meal, but she can't cook. Eli asks his father to come to the wedding and he refuses. If Enos Yutzy won't come then Eli's two brothers and their families won't come. Eli is worried when Daniel Lapp comes home, Joy and he might rekindle their romance. Besides all that stress, they have to worry about thieves in the area stealing the tail hairs off Amish horses.
