God's promise is already in His Word. It is His desire that our requirements be supplied. "What things soever ye want, when ye pray, believe that ye shall have them, and ye shall have them," says Jesus in Mark 11:24. We must recognize that it is God's desire that all of our needs—spiritual, bodily, and material—be addressed. Although we no longer live under the Old Covenant, studying the Old Testament can help us better grasp God's nature.
