There's no one I hate more than my brother's best friend.

Jace is arrogant, annoying, and has been tormenting me my whole life. So I've done what any fairy princess would do: I've waged war on him. He wants to teach all the birds in our aviary to crap on me, then I'll sic a creature in heat on him. He attacks my books, I'll wax off all his hair.

But then the jerk does something truly horrendous: he becomes my royal guard.

Now I'm stuck with him all the bloody time.
