This is a humble attempt to put the teaching notes into the form of a book by one who has been teaching the college students for more than 35 years. It will serve as a textbook for students doing B.Sc. (Honours), M.Sc. or B.E. from various Indian Universities or preparing for equivalent competitive examinations.Mainly S.I. units have been used. However, in chapters on Dielectrics and Magnetism, the equivalent expressions in C.G.S. units are also given to avoid confusion. The sections 'Solved Problems' are not merely a collection of typical numericals but also include many useful short theoretical problems supplementing the main next.
