In the not to distant future, the expansion of the universe is manifests itself. It creates increasingly severe earthquakes and problems in the solar system. Two complete strangers Jim Wordsworth, a spaceship captain, and Angela Hunter, a scientist, are both forced to battle this turmoil and, as a result, their lives intertwine in the process.
