Ben was always getting bucked off in the rodeo of life. As a disillusioned young man at the age of twenty-one, he departs from the Idaho family farm and heads to Montana where he leads the wild life of a renegade cowboy and rodeo rider. He follows a trail of dust as a hard working, hard drinking cowboy, leaving behind the dream of becoming a western artist like his idol Charlie Russell. During the 1970's his motto is "I'm here for a good time, not a long time" which takes him down a path of self-destruction.
