Russell Muirhead is an associate professor of government at Harvard University. His particular areas of interest include contemporary political thought and theories of justice, and 17th and 18th century English and Scottish political thought. He is currently researching the philosophical basis of partisanship in liberal democracy, and will collect his findings in a book, Left and Right: A Defense of Party Spirit. Muirhead earned his Ph.D. from Harvard and taught at Williams College prior to his current appointment.
