Benjamin Franklin is most recognized as one of the Founding Fathers who never held the office of president, but was a distinguished inventor, publisher, scientist, and diplomat. Benjamin Franklin was one of the most influential personalities in the early history of the United States (1706-1790) Franklin had a limited formal education despite being born into a Boston family of modest circumstances on the 17th of January. After that, he established a prosperous printing firm in Philadelphia, which led to his accumulation of fortune. Franklin was highly involved in public affairs in the city that he called home. There, he contributed to the establishment of a lending library, hospital, and college, and he gained recognition for his experiments with electricity, among other endeavours.

He was a member of the Second Continental Congress and contributed to the writing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776 when he was serving in the American Revolution. In addition, he negotiated the Treaty of Paris in 1783, which put an end to the Revolutionary War (1775-83). In his last notable act of public service, which took place in 1787, he was a delegate to the convention that established the Constitution of the United States of America.
