David Levering Lewis, the Martin Luther King Jr. University Professor of History on the New Brunswick campus, has received a second Pulitzer Prize for biography, for his book W.E.B. Du Bois: The Fight for Equality and the American Century, 1919-1963, the second volume in a two-volume series. The first volume, W.E.B. Du Bois: Biography of a Race, 1868-1919, was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1994.
