Later I meet with my lady lawyer. She is confident of victory in the current legal action against me. She is also confident of victory in the current counter suit.
There are two ladies in attendance, when I meet with my lady lawyer. One of the ladies is older and projects the persona of a very wealthy woman. The other woman is about my age and is very sharp. After the meeting with my lady lawyer the younger woman has some very astute questions about my plans to rip up the other side in my law suits. The younger woman could be quite attractive, but she uses no make up and her hair is a mess.
The two women leave and I wrap up with my lady lawyer.
My lady lawyer asks me what I thought of the two women.
I tell my lady lawyer, "The older woman obviously projects the image of a very wealthy woman, from old money. If she has some interest in me, she could be my way out of my being just a temp work boy. The younger woman looks to be some kind of rebel. If I had some control over the younger woman, Janice, I would march her down to the best beauty salon in town and tell them, 'Give Janice the works.'"
My lady lawyer asks, "And, if Janice didn't want the works?"
I laugh, "I suspect that the older lady has some sort of control over Janice and she would want Janice to have the works. I would show Janice my large, powerful hand at the end of a very strong arm and tell Janice, "Janice, you get the works from a beauty salon or your bare behind gets the works from my hand."
My lady lawyer says, "Jim Dann the best beauty salons in town do not use the term 'the works.' Your intended use of physical threat is also not very gentlemanly."
"Hey, I'm just a computer programmer. We computer programmers lack some cooth."
My lady lawyer says, "Maybe more than just some."
Chapter 4: I Get Back To Work
I use my updated device driver as the heart of a demo program. The logic that I use in my updated device driver is not what the manual says, but it works a lot faster than what the manual recommends.
With my updated device driver as the heart of a demo program, the demo program does what we computer professionals call, 'blows the competition away.'
I take tribute from other senior computer programmers, but I tell the admirers, "I win as part of a team. I put in my contribution and the rest of the team does the same. We work hard and push each other. The team wins and the crew all look good."
With the project finished, I move on to the next temp job.
