The three-line poems in this book are strictly limited to 17 syllables in a 5-7-5 syllable pattern. They are pithy comments or word-pictures that are short, direct and full of meaning. Yet their brevity invites you to fill in the gaps from your own experience. Some stand alone, but mostly there are two or more three-line verses intended to draw out wider perspectives or paint a fuller picture. Each one opens a window into what lies beyond, limited by the initial angle of your gaze, yet offering opportunities to change the angle and broaden what you may then be able to see. There are 230 poems on 30 topics presented in six sections: Accentuating the Positive; Wonders of Nature; Appreciating Animals; Recreational Enjoyments; Deceit, Deception and Distrust; and the Epilogue. I hope you enjoy reflecting on these three-liners as much I did when writing them.

My three-line poems:

their five-seven-five form gives

bare bones to chew on.
