The Ship Of The Orcs
Fantasy novel by Alfred Bekker
The size of this book is equivalent to 132 paperback pages.
A ship full of wild orcs in search of gold and fortune!
A tall man in a dark robe, his hood pulled low over his face, walked the decaying streets of nighttime Ardassa.
Today, the ruined city represented only a mere imitation of its former grandeur. Once the second capital of the Sea Rulers' Empire, it was now ruled by the legendary Beggar King, who sent his followers all over the world. Once, in the time of the empire of the Relian sea lords, Ardassa had been a world city. Now its crumbling walls smelled of mustiness and an aura of decay had taken hold of the place. Ardassa sheltered the riffraff of the entire hemisphere. Pirates and outcasts met here, misfits, prophets of twisted cults, and scholars whose teachings were considered heresy elsewhere.
The cowl man looked like a shadow.
The light of the pale moon did not penetrate the darkness that filled his hood.
There was nothing to be seen of his face.
He walked hurriedly and almost silently through the narrow, dark alleys.
Noise, music and quarrelsome voices came from the isolated taverns.
Here and there a door or a window was opened and for a short moment some light penetrated the darkness of the streets of Ardassa.
