This book is dedicated to widows, but it's done in memory of my husband and my mother. I always called my mom, "My # 1 Fan, " from my years on my radio broadcast. She too was a widow. I honored her in this book because I admired her strong stamina, following the death of my father, until the day she died. I especially thank my son who always encouraged me to "write the book," (publish them) and tell your story. He knew I had so many books in me, that had yet to be written and/or published. He often saw me writing but was frequently stopping due to other "distractions" as he would call them. I'm thankful to my daughters for their editorial support.

I'm truly grateful to my Widow Network Support Group of spiritual sisters that I organized. They became my focus group and life-line without even knowing it. We kept each other sane and enabled each other to get through this journey together. We were able to see various views of this widowhood process. They too, encouraged me to write and share a widows' heart. Together we transitioned from sharing about pain and sorrow of widowhood to the new mysteries of singleness. I'm so thankful to them and the "Real Girlfriend" bond we developed.
