What ought to have been a memorable moment for the first Black woman to be nominated to the US Supreme Court, turned into a scene of silly political theatre, on account of Senate Republicans. And as President Joe Biden's candidate Ketanji Brown Jackson clears her path through the last round of question and answer by the Senate judiciary committee, one thing is clear: she deserved better.

Judge Jackson stood apart as a successful person all through her youth. She was a speech and debate star who was elected "mayor" of Palmetto Junior High and student body president of Miami Palmetto Senior High School. However, in the same way as other Black women, Judge Jackson actually confronted her fair share of naysayers.

In spite of being guaranteed a "respectful" hearing, Brown Jackson was met with and constrained into the middle of old political quarrels.

All things considered, the hearings are only one little piece of this. What's more, assuming Brown Jackson is confirmed (which will undoubtedly be the situation), her appointment will presumably clear new paths for individuals who resembles her, paths that will ideally be a lot smoother than the one she had to take.
