I am 43 old, and it has been one of my dreams to write this poetry book. I thought it might inspire patients the world over to write. It alleviated the

boredom I felt in the hospitals in my admissions and created a little bit of fun. Eighteen years ago, I found myself being forced into hospital by my Dad after breaking a window in a hotel, and I went with it. But when we were both told there was nothing wrong with me, I pretended to have something wrong with me to get in. I had a girlfriend who had been in the same hospital, and I wanted to find out first what it was like. It was a crazy move, but I felt that if I could plead insanity in court for breaking the window, then it was justified. They are my thoughts day to day in the hospitals, and some are from when I was in the Merchant navy and others when I was just writing for the fun of it.
