SELF-CARE PRACTICES FOR EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE
When our emotional self-care needs are not being addressed, we tend to feel frustrated and burnt-out, leaving us with a feeling of, "HOW THE HELL DID I GET MYSELF INTO THIS MESS?" and no real plan to climb out.
Having an awareness of how to take more care of ourselves emotionally can serve us well when things get difficult. But as you might imagine, emotional self-care will look different for each and every one of us.
Thankfully, there are steps that we can all take in order to take care of our emotions better!
IN THIS BOOK: Simple ways to practise emotional self-care and transform your life (physical, mental and emotional).
Self-care is intending, planning, and actually taking the time to attend to your basic physical, mental, and emotional needs. IT IS THE CONSCIOUS REST WHICH HELPS YOU RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES. It is the time when you can be present and enjoy life through simple pleasures. It is your ability to stop, smile inwardly and ask yourself: "How are you doing today? What do you need?"–and then attend to those needs with a big dose of kindness and love.
In this book you'll learn:
SELF-CARE IS IMPERATIVE IN MAINTAINING A HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP WITH YOURSELF AND OTHERS. It produces positive feelings, which builds self-love, self-confidence, and self-esteem.
PRACTICE NON-JUDGEMENTAL LOVE FOR YOURSELF. When you've made a mistake or failed to meet a goal or disappointed yourself in any way, don't beat up on yourself. Don't make that a reason to be negative towards yourself.
One of my favorite mantras (that I picked up from Rachel Macy Stafford) is "ONLY LOVE TODAY." Whenever I feel myself going to a dark place instead of a loving one, I repeat that mantra to myself; only love today, only love today, only love today. It's a simple practice but it has helped me to create a habit of giving myself the unconditional love I know I deserve.
