In this historical romance adventure the wealthy Miss Betty with a heart of gold falls in love with the dashing Rafe. After saving Betty's life in a boat trip gone wrong, Rafe's unscrupulous family members try to piece together who is in fact responsible for the accident and who must seek absolution for it. This throws Betty into the deepest sort of moral confusion...but not without a silver lining. Despite being a master of the horror genre due to the worldwide acclaim of 'Dracula' and its adapted screenplay starring Bela Lugosi, Stoker has brought something different with this piece. A short, but brilliant read that reflects Stoker's love of the romance genre.
