Drought and famine have entered the villages of East Valley. A once flourishing agricultural land, the inhabitants are now fleeing the death that has swept the valleys.
But for Amy, the drought has also brought the possibility of a new future that she had only dreamed of before.
When Reikan enters the town, surrounded by a flock of ravens, Amy is instantly drawn to him. Reikan is mysterious and strange but Amy feels as if she is tied to him somehow.
Ever since Amy was a child she has dreamed of becoming a bird and leaving behind the limitations of human life. Now, it seems as if Reikan may be able to help her realize her life-long dream. But what about the future that has been decided for her by her family? Amy must decide whether the path she walks will be one of freedom or duty.
