People read to get entertainment or education. They begin to look at things from a different perspective. Knowledge will redefine your way of thinking. What do the events from 2018 to 2020 mean to the average American? What issues are at the forefront of society that affects all of us? Everyone must be concerned at finding solutions. Do we live out our lives without any resolutions for the next generation?
Within this book events from the pre and-post pandemic of 2020 should be a wake-up call. If we don't change our thinking, we cannot move forward. We need to have another way of thinking, processing, having conversations, right or wrong, and making rational decisions. Examine your inner self and priorities. What changes can you make for self-improvement and self-responsibility?
As a psychiatrist, I want to make you aware of some problems while offering solutions. The reader will be educated on issues affecting everybody's daily lives. Let this book be your mentor! This book could be a lifeline for many individuals who do not have a mentor to help them arrive at a better place. For those young people who are surviving in a dysfunctional family, maybe this book will provide some direction to becoming all you can be.
Anyone who cares about America will realize how detrimental and corrosive these social mores are. The events that have unfolded in our country need to change. During the pandemic, there was a surge of mental health issues. People in general were feeling more depressed, anxious, isolated and overwhelmed. Many experienced hardships that may have effected their perceived individual security. The pandemic has crippled this country.
Tumultuous events and movements continue to plague our country, the United States and its citizens: the #MeToo Movement, derailing the relationships between men and women; school shootings; the coronavirus pandemic; civil unrest from the Black Lives Matter Movement, destruction of cities and the defunding of police departments; in addition to climate change. All this turbulence has created havoc with the American way of life and unhinged not only the US, but us as an individual, and as a family. It is understandable why the emotional toll is so high at this juncture, which is only going to get most costly over the next few years as we grapple with the sadness of this current reality.
We need to get back to basics again, to find peace and foster responsibility within ourselves and others. To pave a path towards inner peace for the individual, and the community, we need to first understand why all this emotional toll has erupted. Without understanding the causes, we cannot look for solutions which will create change and deliver us to a better place in life. As a psychiatrist, I can provide some insight, and offer direction at achieving this goal. This book hopes to plant seeds of change that require us to look at issues from a different prospective as citizens of the US, as a family unit, and as part of the global society. It may provide guidance for many people looking for a way forward.
Are we educating our next generation to stand on their own two feet or are we standing in their way? This book is meant to be shared with our children, to look at every aspect of life. Will our children be independent and emotionally strong dealing with day-to-day and monumental issues?
This book is not a national movement. It is a push, a shove, to recognize what is not working in your life.
Thoughts become words and words become actions. Actions become habits and habits become character. Character becomes destiny.
