优等生林锦被初三沉重的学业任务压得喘不过气来。国庆节在家里在闭门苦读七天后，走在上学路上的林锦突发奇想，半路改道，搭着摩托车独自到石头山溶洞探幽。
林锦的不告而别，让家里和学校都乱成了一锅粥。父母和外婆惊惶地分头四处寻找，好不容易，妈妈发现了林锦，为了不错过女儿，情急之下，不太会游泳的妈妈硬着头皮跳进河中，打算游去对岸。可是河道里水深流急，妈妈还来不及张开双臂，就被激流迅速冲走......
