In 1908, two men exploring a wild and forsaken tract of land came across the remains of a ruined house. A cursory investigation didn't reveal much, but they did find a manuscript, waterlogged and grown over with fungi.

It detailed the story of the man who had lived there, and the bizarre occurrences that had happened to him. Astral projection, attacks from hideous, deformed creatures, ghostly visitations, a vision of the end of the solar system, and a final horror that ended the pages.

No trace of the man was ever found, no clue to his identity was ever uncovered. Eventually, the document found its way into the hands of William Hope Hodgson, who published it in hopes someone might have an answer.

This is the text of that document.
