Also known as The Adolescent, Raw Youth tells the story of teenager Arkady Dolgoruky, the illegitimate child of Andrei Petrovich Versilov, and his difficult relationship with his father. The conflict between father and son represents the battle between the conventional "old" way of thinking and the new point of view of the youth of 1860s Russia.
