Arthur Miller (1915-2005) is one of the important modern American dramatists who is highly interested in society and deals with the crucial role of society directly in some of his plays. Miller's plays are considered comments on and criticism of society because he believes that drama can expose the ills of society. The study deals with the crucial role of society in selected plays of Arthur Miller. The word "Crucial" is used as a term to refer to the hard, serious, pressing and decisive role of society and how society oppresses man, ignores him and does not deal with him as a human being who has hopes, feelings and emotions. The word "Crucial" is also used to refer to how society always rejects man and man cannot succeed in it.
