Jodi's parents were yelling al the time. So much so, most of the neighbors heard them. But it upset Jodi so much. She didn't understand.
They never listened to her anymore. Sometimes they didn't even know she was in the room. So when Henry, the neighbors cat came over
and crawled up in her lap, Jodi felt she could tell Henry everything. She could cry now, and talk to Henry because he listened. Henry would
crawl right up into her lap and snuggle with her, making her laugh. And when Johnny, her neighbor came over he noticed how HEnry made
Jodi feel better. So he gave him to her. "I have to work all the time after school. I don't have time for taking care of him. Would you take care
of him for me, Jodi?"
