徐光启（1562-1633），官至崇祯朝礼部尚书兼文渊阁大学士、内阁次辅。曾从利玛窦学习西方天文、历法、数学、测量和水利等科学技术，毕生致力于科学技术的研究，勤奋著述，翻译《几何原本》《测量法义》等，是介绍和吸收欧洲科学技术的积极推动者，堪称中西方文化交流第一人。
