Bouncing Pearls: Ancient Chinese Poetry is a new English translation of classical Chinese poems, dating from 600 BCE to the Eighteenth Century. It presents the writings of about 110 poets. Over 250 poems were selected from different sources, especially Poems of a Thousand Masters and Three Hundred Tang Poems. The former, aimed less at moralizing, may do more in revealing the intrinsic values of the ancient Chinese poets. This translation attempts to preserve the essence and identity of the originals by providing rhymes and following the rhyming patterns chosen, when appropriate
