A brief note on the concept

The author started up a small business advisory service about the year 2000 because he felt that small business was being unfairly treated by Governments and other bodies. The big end of town businesses could buy all the benefits of modern technology and the small operators had to make do on their own.

At the start he used the upcoming computerised accounting systems being developed for his clients but felt the shortcomings of the systems left much to be desired. This book is the story of his research into making bookkeeping records easier for the small business to help level the playing field in the modern world.

It is a detailed history of the changes from before the introduction of computers to the present day but includes the answers he designed to improve the accounting systems.

It should appeal to a number of readers from Accountants, computer software technicians and more especially the owners of the corner shop and the tradesmen working on their own.
