When Detective Sammy Greyfox discovers a woman on the beach, a new case opens which would challenge the combined talents of Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot.

The case is a homicide and the weapon, motive and access, are obvious, but for too many suspects. How can she narrow this down, when there's the possibility of even more?

In the middle of the case, the Sheriff receives a threat that an officer will be killed every day until he reopens the case of a convicted cop-killer on death row due to be executed in seven days time. Can Sammy succesfully juggle these two cases, or is she doomed to fail?
