She needs help...
He needs to stay away...

Lena loves everything about veterinary school, but then, she hasn't served her time in the equine repro department yet. She might not survive that incarceration, but she'll do anything to keep the faculty from finding out about that problem. She'll never graduate if they do.

Kit is the perfect vet school resident. Excelling at imparting knowledge to his students, he's on track for tenure, and having just escaped the bonds of a messy marriage, getting involved with anything but a pager just ain't gonna happen.

Kit discovers Lena's problem, but by then, it's too late. Far too late. Besides, relationships between residents and students are like oil and water; they just don't mix...

This is Book 4 of the Vet School 24/7 sequence within the Once Upon a Vet School series. Like Lizzi's other books, this one is unpretentious, eminently readable fiction. The contemporary veterinary fictions in the ONCE UPON A VET SCHOOL SERIES, stories for anyone who's ever dreamed of becoming a veterinarian or loves horses, can easily be read as standalones. Follow Lena as she follows her dream of becoming an equine veterinarian from the Santa Cruz Mountains of her childhood through the jungles of university to equine practice in the Sierra Nevada foothills, and finally onto her career as a rural equine and sometimes zoo-dentistry vet in New Zealand. This is Book 7 in the series, following Book 6: Fifty Miles at a Breath. The series is written out of order—if George Lucas can do it, why not? Even better, they're clean and wholesome, so everyone can read them!
