What could a Penthouse in Seattle and its four stunning women have in common with miles after mile of rolling farmland in Missouri?
Briallen reports in the penthouse, "Madam, I will fly to Missouri on a commercial airline. There is no need for your Boeing 767."
The Madam replies, "A small aircraft will get you to the Caldwell County seat. The ex-sheriff will drive you around and introduce you to the people. We need al least 9,000 acers to move ahead."
The farmland is centered around Far West Missouri but now it does not exist except on a map of about 1840. It is just where several dirt roads meet. There are currently 9,300 people living in Caldwell County which is 420,000 square miles.
Briallen starts riding with the sheriff over dirt roads, meeting with the farmers in the area. She tries to convince them to raise her new variety of tomato.
All the farmers are dirt-poor with few young people staying on the farm. There is no work except subsistence farming. Will she get the 9,000 acers committed to her tomato?
After the old residents pass on; the land returns as it was 200 years ago. Some of the kids pay the small land tax and some do nothing. The County reclaims the empty land which they do not want.
