Wintersmoon is a 1928 novel by the British writer Hugh Walpole. It pits two rival couples against each other one representing modernity and the other traditionalism with the latter ultimately triumphing. Walpole wrote horror novels that tended more towards the psychological rather than supernatural, with a brooding underlying mysticism. | Wintersmoon begins: I am asking you again to marry me as I did a fortnight ago.
