Steve Berman is a newly minted MBA who loses his job just before a visit to his parents in Florida. Desperate not to disappoint his doting parents, he accepts a new job quickly, so he won't have to tell them he's been fired. His move from Wall Street analyst to construction manager is a bumpy one, as he joins a zany crew building a shopping center at the edge of the Everglades.

Returning to the bosom of his family provides other complications, as his cousins, the Blatnicks, get into trouble and need Steve to bail them out (sometimes literally!) By the end of this comic novel about Jewish family relationships and shopping mall construction Steve understands what it means to be part of a family.
