Carrie immediately makes a phone call, "Jim Post just checked in. He said that he had more information about Wanda than I do."
Jean says, "Well, I don't know for sure, but the rumor is that Wanda's starring in a movie."
Carrie says, "Not a Hollywood movie?"
Jean says, "Definitely not a Hollywood movie!"
Carrie asks, "Maybe a nudie movie?"
Jean says, "Try a live action nudie movie!"
Carrie says, "If so, a live action nudie movie has destroyed her life, around here."
* * *
Jim walks back into the department where he works.
Wesley intercepts Jim. Wesley says, "It looks like you gonna get the Project Manager job. However, you lost Wanda, along the way. I can get Wanda back for you."
Jim eyes Wesley, with contempt and says, "I have no further interest in Wanda. In any case, she's now married. You really don't want to get involved with the guy that she's married to."
Wesley says, "Jim, you can do things with those computers that you work with. I work with people. If I want to, I can take Wanda away from another guy."
Jim shakes his head no, in denial, and asks, "Why would I want a girl that you can take away from another guy, even a husband?"
Wesley says, "Jim, you can do things with those computers that you work with. I work with people. If I want to, I can take any girl away from you."
Jim snorts, "Yeah Wesley, you can take a Wanda girl away from me. However, I don't want a Wanda girl, I'm interested in a woman."
Wesley says, "Jim, if I want to, I can take any woman away from you."
Jim lectures, "Wesley, you can take a girl away from a guy. However, you don't measure up with a woman. Wanda, maybe, a woman, no."
Wesley says, "Jim, you'll see."
(Jim thinks, "Wesley, you are an amateur romeo boy. The boy that Wanda is a slave to, is way out of your league. However, find that out for yourself, if you survive.")
Jim then walks to the Department Manager's office and tells the Secretary, "Jim Post checking in."
The Secretary says, "Yes, you'll have to wait."
Jim says, "I'll wait and use the time to learn." Jim then sits in a chair and begins to read some sort of loose leaf document. (He seems totally absorbed.) Jim does make a few notes in the document.
The Secretary finally says, "The Department Manager will see you now."
Jim closes the document that he was reading and he then walks over to the Department Manager's office door and is buzzed in.
Glen eyes Jim for a bit. Glen then says, "Sit down." Glen then again eyes Jim for a bit. Glen then says, "You scheduled a demo, for a military customer, without notifying me."
Jim says, "I did scheduled a demo, for a military customer. I did notify you, via your Secretary,as per policy. Since you didn't comment, I went and presented the customer with a demo. I also notified my Project Manager. Since Wesley didn't comment either, I went and presented the customer with a demo."
Glen then again eyes Jim for a bit. Glen then says, "I was unaware that the scheduled a demo was to feature some sort of new mathematical algorithm."
Jim says, "Had you called me in, I would have explained the situation in detail. Wesley never called me in, but I wouldn't have explained the situation in detail, as explaining a mathematical algorithm to Wesley would have been a waste of his time and my time." (I avoid stating that explaining a mathematical algorithm to Glen would also have been a waste of his time and my time.) I do point out, "Of course, neither Wesley or Glen are really trained in mathematics, however, your Chief Scientist could have been called in."
Glen says, "Neither Wesley or myself were aware of the apparent...
