The prevalence of depression among patients with Parkinson´s disease is estimated about 50% and studies indicate that depression may be a part of the disease itself. As diagnosing depression in Parkinson´s disease can be difficult, it is necessary to pay attention to specific symptoms. Furthermore, the evidence of clinical treatment is still being discussed. This readable and informative book pulls together current knowledge about neurological and psychiatric aspects of depression in patients with Parkinson´s disease. It intends to improve the awareness, understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of this difficult and disabling condition.
