This collection, to be sure, constitutes a typical random harvest of curriculum history inquiries delivered at SSCH meetings. It is a harvest, nevertheless, one that illustrates both the vigor and the unevenness of an emerging and developing field. The book also reveals that scholarship in the field rapidly is passing from the first to the succeeding generation of curriculum historians. The spirit of exploration that characterizes curriculum historians, so very obvious just 25 years ago, continues unabated.
