The papers presented at the Colloquium are all published in this issue. They have all been reviewed and appropriately amended. All of the papers, to a lesser and greater extent, sprung from the impact of the downturn of the last few years as scholars and practitioners alike work to look back on what has happened and explore methods, models and techniques that might help explain what has happened and hopefully help us avoid a repeat real estate crash around the globe. Some authors examined the ramifications of the downturn, some at the lessons to be learned and some at fundamental changes in the way we view real estate markets that could be implemented to try to avoid a repetition of the failings in the appraisal process that have become apparent since the crash.
